Your tasks You will work on an innovative industrial project in an interdisciplinary team of lecturers, scientific staff, technicians and students in the fields of sensor technology, electrical engineering and optics. The goal of the project is to develop an optical technology for the non-contact measurement of coating thickness in the submicrometer range. Your activities include:
- Development of a technology demonstrator, which will also be tested in industrial applications during the project
- Characterization of the optical properties of coatings
- Modeling of thermo-optical processes in thin film systems
- Performing optical simulations for the optimization of the system
The position is limited to two years but can be extended to carry out follow-up projects. Depending on the progress of related activities in the field, it is possible to increase the level of employment from a minimum of 60 % to 100 %.
