Post-Doc position 100% for "cell-mediated particle delivery across biological barriers"
This research project aims to explore und steer immune cell-mediated particle delivery across the endothelial cell barrier. Therefore a microfluidic-based advanced human in vitro model has to be established allowing the study of particle uptake, transport and fate. Finally, the biological effects shall be correlated with particle properties such as surface functionalization or size. You will acquire an in depth understanding of the interactions of materials with human advanced in vitro cell cultures. You will design, conduct and analyse scientific experiments in an interdisciplinary environment and in collaboration with other academic partners. In addition you will be involved in writing scientific publications, presenting results at national and international scientific meetings, leading projects and acquiring project funding.
We are looking for a well-organized, highly self-motivated, excellent candidate interested in nanosafety research. The candidate should hold a PhD degree in biology, life science or a related field with expert know-how in in vitro cell culture preferentially related to the vascular system. Furthermore, excellent writing skills are of great importance. Additional assets include experience in project management and acquisition as well as in student supervision.
The position 100% is available from February 2021 or after negotiation and will be initially limited to two years.
