The PhD student is funded as part of the ERC Consolidator H2020 program. He/she will contribute to the project “Synthesis of polymers with increased dielectric permittivity”. Your tasks:to conduct the synthesis and characterization of new polar polymersto process the polar polymers in thin films and to optimize their properties to conduct mechanical, dielectric and electromechanical tests of the developed materialsto test the developed materials in different applications
Your profile:
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in synthetic organic and polymer chemistry, ability to work in a multidisciplinary field, open to acquire new knowledge and willingness to collaborate with different groups. The PhD candidate needs to be proficient in spoken and written English and has a Master’s degree.
Our offer:
The work will be carried out at Empa Dübendorf under the supervision of Dr Dorina Opris. You will be registered as a PhD student either at ETHZ or EPFL. The planned duration for receiving a PhD is four years starting June 2021.
