Your main tasks

• General laboratory management, ordering, organization of biologicals and chemicals, as well as maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Implementation and updating of biosafety guidelines (BSL2). Training of new lab members in the lab's biosafety concept.
• Management of experimental animal colonies and licenses for experimentation.
• Genotyping

Your profile

• The position requires training as a Laboratory Technician or Master of Science and preferably at least 2-year experience as a lab technician. We are looking for someone with excellent organization and communication skills, reliability, and the ability to easily adapt to different tasks. Prior hands-on experience with management of animal experiments will be highly valued. The job requires proficient German skills and a good level of communication in English.

The research activities at Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology of the University Hospital Zurich are directed towards the elucidation of the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer. We have a specific interest in hematopoietic stem cell biology and on the preclinical development of novel therapies against hematological neoplasias. Different research groups in the department are closely working towards these goals, through the use of cutting edge technologies for cellular and molecular immunotherapy, gene editing, pharmacological screenings, xenograft models and bioimaging.
