Junior Business Risk Manager Asset Management #198966
Asset Management (AM) Business Risk Management (BRM) is a specialist team operating within the executive COO (Chief Operating Officer) function. BRM is a First Line of Defense (1LoD) team closely aligned with the businesses, providing central oversight for all Front Office (FO) operational risk and control framework activities, including design, implementation, on-going monitoring/reporting, and testing/validation of FO controls. This is a rapidly evolving area of our business, in a changing environment, which is challenging, demanding, but also rewarding.
We are looking for an ambitioned applicant with work experience around control frameworks, supplemented with wider financial business and product knowledge (best case: Asset Management exposure), to support our BRM function for AM Switzerland and EMEA (CH/EMEA) in continuously enhancing our control framework. This role will require a blend of internal control and risk expertise, coupled with incident remediation experience to cover the CH/EMEA region inside AM.
This role’s responsibilities include:
- Enhancing the Control Framework: Perform control design and performance reviews in collaboration with business risk owners, based on analysing the underlying business processes and activities, applying quality standards and implementing the changes within the defined deadlines. Further, apply quality standards to existing controls, providing draft wordings to stakeholders during regular checkpoints until final wording can be submitted.
- Handling incidents: Support the incident handling process, including mutual roles, responsibilities, tools and deadlines involving stakeholders from First and Second Lines of Defense. Further, manage the identification, assessment, remediation of incidents, and define preventive measures in collaboration with stakeholders from investment boutiques and Second Line of Defense functions.
- Support in Data Governance & Reporting: Monitor, document and report progress on incident remediation and implementation of preventive measures (lifecycle management). Proactive tracking of action and issue completion with relevant stakeholders, and support on regular reporting on tasks of the BRM function, including ad-hoc reporting with qualitative and quantitative data on key risk topics.
Your future colleagues
We are a department which values Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) and is committed to realizing the firm’s D&I ambition which is an integral part of our global cultural values. Our team is eager and ambitious to bring AM’s control environment and culture to the next level. You can expect short decision paths and a flat hierarchy to be able to drive change proactively.
