We look for a candidate with a master degree in experimental Physics, and a strong background in magnetism and magnetic materials, and possibly UHV and low temperature scanning probe microscopy systems is desired for this position, but most importantly high motivation to study new physical phenomena at the nanoscale using unique and sophisticated experimental equipment is sought. Excellent communication skills and good verbal and written knowledge in English are also expected.
We offer for this project a highly stimulating research environment with excellent infrastructure, including home-built qMFM systems. An experienced permanent research staff member, and a postdoc will supervise the research work. This group is further integrated in the Empa Laboratory for Nanoscale Material Science conducting a large number of other basic and applied science projects in various research fields. As a Ph.D. student you will be embedded in a much larger multidisciplinary international research team.
