Distribution Application Support & Business Analyst
As a Distribution Application Support & Business Analyst, you will be part of the Distribution & Payment Solutions IT Service Factory within the Lufthansa Group and therein responsible for SWISS, Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines. Your focus will be on Distribution Technologies used to connect external (Online) Travel Agents, Corporate Customers, Tour Operators, etc. to our airline reservation system through our NDC API and user interface covering two roles:
As an Application Specialist, you will ensure that our distribution systems run smoothly and in case they do not: take the required actions. You will support the lead coordinator and the product owner in your role. Therefore, your responsibilities include as well the coordination of our external support desk where you have to investigate root-cause of issues and requests, set priorities, engage with internal and external stakeholders, optimize processes, increase the overall efficiency and ensure that 1st and 2nd level support have the necessary know how to perform their tasks.
As a Business Analyst, you have extensive travel industry know how, you know how travel systems interact and you gather additional knowledge of our distribution systems and support group-wide projects. You will collaborate with our internal business stakeholders and external IT partners to ensure the success of the Lufthansa Group Distribution Strategy. Ideally, you like technical challenges where the full picture is not clear in the beginning and your task is to design the right IT change and IT approach. Adding up experience in maintaining active relationships with technical partner companies as well as keeping yourself up-to-date on IATAs newest NDC versions and general industry trends makes you an ideal fit for this part of the job.
You have been working in a Travel Industry environment before, such as Agency, Online Booking Engine, Direct Connect, Travel Management Company, Global Distribution System or Online Travel Agency. You know how travel agency processes work – be that in either Leisure or Business Travel. You like IT and you like reservation systems of any kind.
Type of contract:
- Profound work experience gained within the Travel Industry
- Process knowledge of travel agency processes
- Experience in incident and problem management
- Minimum 3 years knowledge of Distribution (related) systems (e.g. Sabre, Apollo, Farelogix, Datalex, PROS, Galileo, Amadeus, Worldspan)
- Know how in any of the following areas is a plus: Travel technology, ATPCO, PSS, ticketing, ancillary services, revenue management or general travel industry experience
- Set/manage priorities and clearly address tasks
- Good communication and intercultural skills
- Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills as well as persistence
- Willingness to travel up to 10% internationally
- Fluent in English, German a plus other languages as an asset
